As of January 12, 2008

The latest update on little Britton Giffen gives further testament to the miraculous power of God. As of January 12, Britton has been taken off of the warming blanket with a temperature of 98 degrees.

Quoting from the Giffens' blog:
Other good news to report is:
* he is off the antiobiotics
* he is off the dopamine (for blood pressure)
* his kidneys are working very well on their own
* his catheter has been removed & he is wearing little bitty diapers
* he has had no more mini seizures

If all goes well over the next couple of days, he will be undergoing some neurological tests on Tuesday. Please continue to pray for him and his parents.

Another Update

God is so amazing. Little Britton is improving. He's on the warming blanket now and each time his vitals have been checked they have been perfect.

Update

I just checked the blog of my friends whose son was born a month early and received some encouraging news. Little Britton is expected to be taken off of the heating pad sometime this morning. An ultrasound had been performed on him the night before last and showed everything was normal. However, he will have several neurological tests performed on him on Monday. Pray that these are also normal. He was without blood and oxygen for about 6-8 minutes.

Miracles Happen

Just a few days ago, I learned that some acquaintances of mine were expecting their first child. At the same time, I learned that their son, little Britton was born. He is a little miracle. He was born a month early. However, I have been keeping up with his progress since I learned of his birth and he is making progress.

Victoria's Treasures

Probably very few people know that I have my own home business. It is currently called Victoria's Treasures and carries a variety of handmade crocheted items which I have made. I am currently working on coming up with a new name for this and the best name I have so far is Serenity Crochet. So far there are four in favor and one against this name. Please feel free to cast your vote in the pole and if possible leave a reply here explaining why you do or don't like the new name. Also, feel free to include your own ideas.

Here's the link to the Victoria's Treasures collection.

Twelfth Night — January 5

Twelfth Night, the eve of January 5, is in English folk custom the end of Christmas merrymaking and in ancient Celtic tradition the end of the 12-day winter solstice celebration. On Twelfth Night, it was customary for the assembled company to toast one another from the wassail bowl. In Old English, wassail means "Be in good health," but the term also was applied to the drink itself (usually spiced ale). (from Old Farmer's Almanac

Late Christmas Greeting

I'm very late this year with my Christmas greeting (or, perhaps, you might say very, very early. ;-j). I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
